Classical Guitar Program Audition Requirements

Applicants must submit:

1) Application form completed in full

2) Current résumé and/or list of musical experiences including repertoire studied/performed and ensemble experience

3) Application fee (application cannot be processed until fee is received).

4) A recording of highest quality containing:

*An etude/study by Giuliani, Carcassi, Sor or Brouwer

*Two works of contrasting style and period. Repertoire is not limited to the following examples, but this list may be used as a guide.

-J.S. Bach – Prelude in D Minor or a single movement from any suite, sonata or partita

-Heitor Villa-Lobos – Any individual piece from the Etudes or Preludes

-Leo Brouwer – Danza Caracteristica or Un Dia de Noviembre

-A single movement from a sonata of Sor, Giuliani, or Diabelli

-Francisco Tarrega – Recuerdos de la Alhambra or Capricho Arabe

-Any work by Agustín Barrios Mangoré

-Any work by Joaquín Rodrigo

-A single movement of a concerto by Brouwer, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Giuliani, Ponce, Rodrigo, or Villa- Lobos
