Simona Barbu

Since attending MasterWorks in 2003 and 2004 Simona earned a Master's Degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She is currently finishing up her Doctorate in Cello Performance at University of Memphis, where she performed the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Memphis University Symphony Orchestra, as the concerto competition winner, in February 2007. Simona is also serving as Adjunct Instructor of Strings at Mississippi State University. In January of 2009, she performed the Haydn Cello Concerto with both the Eroica Ensemble and with Starkville Symphony Orchestra.
