Rachel Mortenson

Rachel, MWF '07 and '08, is currently in her second semester as the oboe department Graduate Assistant at the University of Akron where she studies with Cynthia Sperl. Rachel is pursuing a Master of Music perfomance degree. Her assistantship duties include playing in the University Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Graduate Woodwind Quintet.

Rachel says, "Starting graduate school was a challenging transition for me after living and working at home for the past two years. I wanted to learn and master everything imediately! Learning to be patient was a constant struggle. God has taught me many valuable lessons last semester and now I am eagerly, patiently getting back to the work of the kingdom of God - making reeds!"
