Peter Oehrtman

Peter, MWF '08, had a pretty exciting fall semester at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. It ended with a bang - he made it to the finals in the student concerto competition performing Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1. He ended up winning the audience choice first prize, which he definitely regards as an honor. He writes "I really do feel honored, because I wouldn't have been able to play a piece that difficult in public last year because of my nerves--God has really taken me a long way this past year." Peter is now getting ready for several performances and competitions coming up, including a solo recital in February. He hopes to return to MasterWorks this summer, in addition to the prospect of attending the three-week piano program at Brevard. Outside of music, Peter is busy helping his church, co-leading the student bible study, mentoring through a discipleship ministry, coaching other mentors in that ministry, and just enjoying the fellowship!
