Megan McDonald
Winds AlumniMegan, MWF '06-'08, is in the middle of her second season with The Ballet San Antonio, preparing for their final performances. They had a great two week run of Nutcracker, getting to dance to a live symphony this year which, as always, created more energy and joy in the performance. Our spring showcase is called "Off Center," and will be a compilation of about 11 contemporary works choreographed by the Artistic Director, Ballet Master, and other company teachers. Personally, it has been challenging to find my place in this company as the tallest female! Her height has been an issue in casting so at times she has become discouraged. However, throughout this struggle, the Lord has really been drawing her to Himself and reminding her that He created me to be as tall as I am. Knowing that God provided the job, He is teaching Megan to trust Him always. She is learning to be content in the circumstances and to dance every step, no matter how small, with as much effort and excellence as any step she has performed before. Another step she is preparing to take is toward marriage! After MasterWorks 2008 she got engaged to Mike Garnier, a youth pastor in Kansas City and will be moving there when the season is over. She is really seeking the Lord to lead her to the right company, school, and dance studio. Though she doesn't know what the next step in my career will be, she proclaims "I trust God that I am going in the perfect direction!"
