Initiatives

An Initiative is a creative way for performing artists to advance the teachings of Jesus in their artistic communities.

Below you will find suggestions to engage your performing artist community with the Kingdom of God.  They are organized into three loose categories:

• Evangelism 

• Service

• Discipleship

Initiatives aim to provide a launching point for the question: What would happen if performing artists applied their creative gifts to fellowship and outreach ideas? 

You might wonder what a game night or Ultimate Frisbee has to do with God’s Kingdom.  Without the Spirit, nothing!  But with Him, “religiously neutral” places such as a soccer field or coffee shop or concert hall can become holy ground.  And seemingly mundane habits such as driving to a ballet performance an hour away with colleagues can turn into holy activities.  Meet your friends on their level with a surrendered heart to the Lord and see what happens. 

Remember: Prayer, intentionality, quality, and free snacks are key elements to successful Initiatives.
