Faculty Bio: John Kasica
B.Mus. The Julliard School. Mr. Kasica has been with the St. Louis Symphony for thirty years. He has made numerous appearances as a solo percussionist with major orchestras. With more than seventy performances to his credit, Mr. Kasica enjoys the distinction of having made more solo appearances with major American orchestras than any orchestral percussionist in U.S. history. As a chamber musician, Mr. Kasica has appeared with Musica Aeterna in New York, Suzuki and Friends in Indianapolis, the Da Camera in Houston, the Summit Brass, and the Saint Louis Symphony’s Chamber Music St. Louis series. Currently, he and his wife, flutist Paula Kasica, present concerts throughout the U.S. and abroad as Windfire, an ensemble specializing in the performance of flute and percussion music from around the world.
