Alumni: Jeff Watson
Jeff Watson
Theatre AlumniJeff, MWF '00 and '01, is now in Phoenix, Arizona where he is in Graduate School studying Philosophy. After MasterWorks introduced him to Improv, he's been performing improv regularly since 2003. The last three years he has been a part of The Remainders, which a troupe that improvises one-act musicals completely from scratch. They have performed at festivals in Toronto, New Orleans, and New Mexico, as well as regular shows around Phoenix. He also directs and teaches a college-level improv troupe, and sometimes he and David Cosand do two-person improv shows together. He states that there is a larger group of people in Phoenix working to earn improvisation more respect as an art, beyond "just zany comedy," and is grateful to to have a small part in that.
Outside of improv, he writes and directs plays for his Church's drama team. He has also acted in some short films and plays -- last summer he played the Mischievous Russian Tailor in a production of The Emperor's New Clothes. Next on the agenda is shooting a short comedy script that he wrote called "Rules of Life."
