Alumni: Borah Kang
Borah Kang
Piano AlumniBorah, MWF Piano '05-'07, is currently pursuing a Doctoral of Musical Art in piano performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is also teaching group piano for secondary instruction as a Teaching Assistant, and teaching in the PLP (Piano Lab for Pre-College) program at school. She writes, "I love teaching as much as I love performing on the stage. Teaching is the best way of learning, and God gave me a wonderful spirit of serving others with teaching."
Borah recently performed Mozart Piano Concerto K.491 in C minor for the concerto competition, and made it to the final list. She wrote her own cadenza for this concerto, including a theme from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni. She was able to do this because this concerto is chronologically close to his opera Don Giovanni. She shares, "I really enjoyed writing my own cadenza."
Borah also recently passed a doctoral comprehensive exam, and is now a doctoral candidate in piano performance. "I am so thankful for His grace, and grateful for those who prayed for me."
