Ben Opp

MWF '06 and '08, graduated with a BM in Bassoon Performance from the University of the Pacific in Spring 2008, and is just about to start his second semester of Master's studies in bassoon performance at Eastman. Ben says "I have been amazed at how God has prepared just about everything at Eastman for me, down to my living situation and a great church." On the professional/musical side, he is the Secondary Bassoon Instructor at Eastman, teaching non-major bassoonists and Eastman students who want to take secondary lessons on bassoon. "I am growing to love teaching, seeing how little I know about teaching, and getting excited about the potential for influence and living out the Kingdom in this context," says Ben.

Ben is also playing in the Greece Symphony, a community orchestra in a suburb of Rochester, and will be performing the Weber Concerto with them this season.
